Island Adventure 2016 (2006)

Island Adventure 2004 is a video installation consisting of 14 interviews, shot in Nice, France, in 2004. 14 French participants shared their stories about the Asian objects which were handed down from their ancestors who had connection to Asia especially Vietnam during the period of French colonization. 12 year later, I continued this project in Vietnam in reverse.  Island Adventure 2016 is a sequel of Island Adventure 2014, which takes place in Vietnam and showing the story of the other side.

​환상의 섬 2016

<환상의 섬 2004> 는 2004년 프랑스 니스에서 촬영한 14개의 인터뷰를 담은 설치작품이다. 인터뷰에 참여한 14명의 프랑스인들은 가족으로부터 물려받은 아시아 물건들, 특히 프랑스의 베트남 식민 통지 시절과 관련된 물건들에 얽힌 이야기들을 들려준다. 12년이 지난 후, 나는 이 작품을 반전시켜 베트남에서 이어갔다. <환상의 섬 2016> 은 <환상의 섬 2004> 의 연장선에 있는 작품으로 20004년 작품의 대척 지점에 있는 이야기들을 보여준다.
